(SportsNetwork.com) - Oracle Arena has been a house of horrors for opposing teams this season. The Golden State Warriors have given the home fans their moneys worth and will resume a six-game residency Wednesday versus the Indiana Pacers. The Warriors have ripped off 12 straight wins at home and are 14-1 as the host. Golden State is 4-0 on the stay and dispatched the Oklahoma City Thunder, 117-91, Monday night thanks to a 3-point barrage. It tied a season-high with 15 3-pointers (15-of-28) and held the Thunder to a season-low 30.6 percent from the field. Harrison Barnes made all five of his 3-pointers en route to 23 points, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both scored 19 points and Draymond Green finished with 11 points and a game-best 13 rebounds. Great job defensively, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. Our guys were really smart, they helped each other. The 12-game winning streak at home is the longest for the Warriors since a 15- game run back in the 1989-90 campaign. The 14-1 start as the host is the best since an 18-1 beginning back in 1975-76. Curry needs one 3-pointer for 1,000 in his career. If Curry makes one against Indiana he will become the fastest player to reach the mark (369 games). Golden State will close the homestand Friday versus Cleveland. The Pacers will close out a four-game road trip Wednesday and are 2-1 on the sojourn thanks to Mondays 105-101 victory over the Utah Jazz. Roy Hibbert finished with 22 points, Luis Scola had 16 off the bench and both Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles scored 13 points for Indiana, which raced out to a 31-16 lead after the first quarter and have won six of their last nine games. We came out of the gates strong, played a strong basketball game, Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. Hibbert has been playing well under Vogel recently, posting an average of 15.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in his last four games. Indiana is 6-12 against teams from the Western Conference and will host the Boston Celtics next on Friday. The Pacers and Warriors split a pair of meetings last season and the two clubs will collide Feb. 22 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. But after having its inaugural F1 race in 1950, what makes it so special today? Is it the glamour, the prestige, the unique circuit? We asked some of the Sky F1 punditry team to share their views...DAMON HILLEveryones heard of Monaco. Its almost a synonymous word for grand prix racing. Its a famous, beautiful place in the south of France and its got a tremendous history, going back to before the war. Its one of the great challenges, but also one of the great social events of our sporting calendar.Over the years its changed naturally as weve introduced much more safety precautions but there is virtually no run-off. McLaren drivers Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button pose with footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and model Cara Delevingne At some of the faster corners they give you a small run-off area but the principal thing in Monaco is that youre right up against the barriers for most of the circuit, and its very difficult to pass.It makes qualifying one of the highlights of all the sessions we do in the season.ANTHONY DAVIDSONMonaco is still special, not just because of the history and the fact that its only one of the four remaining circuits on the calendar from the original 1950 calendar. Its special for the drivers mainnly because of the close proximity to the barriers, the fact that they would never build a race track like that today - it really is a one-off.ddddddddddddThat makes the challenge of driving a Formula 1 car round there, in my mind higher than most other circuits that you go to. Its a different format throughout the weekend, you run on the Thursday you have the Friday off and then its back to business on the Saturday-Sunday. It makes FP3 and qualy even harder in many ways because youve had this break. Its a circuit where you need to be constantly in a rhythm.Time is essential and even just one day out of that rhythm can affect your FP3 flow, whereas normally its just a continuation, a build-up towards race day. That makes it a circuit that really favours drivers that live on seat-of-your-pants driving, that are more naturally at ease in the car, naturally gifted, who can just turn it on.
