Fibratech is a composite material based on basalt fiber. Thin layers are laid down in precise orientations and then cured using a process that controls pressure and temperature. The matrix that binds the reinforcements together is a polymer. This creates a heterogeneous matte gray appearance with a random pattern depending on how it is cut. Technically, Fribatech is 60% lighter than stainless steel and is extremely tough and corrosion-resistant. It is a highly suitable material for such a large dive watch.

The PAM01663 is Panerai's first watch to feature Fibratech, a new material seamlessly integrated with the brand's proprietary high-tech carbon fiber composite material. Carbotech is used to manufacture the bezel, crown, and locking lever. The caseback is made of micro-blasted titanium. The 44mm case is water-resistant to 30 bar (300 meters).

This watch features Luminor's signature sandwich dial, a gradient blue dial with white Super-LumiNova Arabic numerals and hour markers. The movement is the brand's in-house P.9010 automatic caliber. This large twin-barrel movement offers a three-day power reserve when fully wound. Comprising 200 components, including 31 jewels, the movement displays the hours, minutes, small seconds, and date.

The PAM01663 is presented on a Panerai Sportech strap, a braided, water-resistant rubber-effect strap. The blue strap features white stitching and is secured with a trapezoidal pin buckle in DLC-coated titanium. A blue rubber strap and a screwdriver for removing the clasp are also included.
