Chris Coleman has paid tribute to Joe Ledley with the Crystal Palace midfielder set to feature at some point in Wales opening Euro 2016 match against Slovakia on Saturday. Ledley has made a remarkable recovery after fracturing his leg playing for Palace against Stoke early last month, an injury that ruled him out of the FA Cup final defeat against Manchester United.A matter of four weeks later Ledley is training fully with the Wales squad and Coleman said on Friday that he would be part of his plans for Saturdays match in Bordeaux. Coleman said: To get to where he is, is an unbelievable job, just fantastic. Hes always been in my consideration and I think he is one of those players who is important on and off the pitch - his character, what he brings to the group.Im not going to give anything away at the moment but he is available to play some part, whether thats a start or to come on as a substitute. Chris Coleman is confident Wales can progress to the knockout stages of Euro 2016 but stressed they have to perform well Hes been really impressive in training and for him to get to where he is now, considering where he came from at the end of the season - physically and mentally - hes shown what he is made of. Its a credit (to him).Coleman is managing at a major international tournament for the first time and he is relishing the chance to test Wales in such an arena after they qualified for the European Championship for the first time. They will be backed by a large travelling support and Coleman is determined to give them something to cheer, insisting again they are not there to make up the numbers. Walesfootball team insist theyre not just at Euro 2016 to make up the numbers ahead of their opening match against Slovakia He added: Were delighted to be here. I thought it would never happen but we are here. Its something we have dreamed about for a long time, a major tournament, so we are super-excited and very much looking forward to the challenge on Saturday.I understand we have got 25 or 30,000 Welsh supporters to back us which is incredible, so we want to do them proud. We are going to enter the tournament with the same spirit we entered our (qualifying) campaign and that is when we walk on to the pitch we give everything for our jersey. After a year in which Gareth Bale won a second Champions League can he lead Wales to glory at Euro 2016? Watch his best goals from last season What will be will be after that, but we will make sure we take care of our performance and do our nation proud. Its not the time to sit back and enjoy the moment. We have to perform like we can and then we can enjoy the moment. The team we have got has not been together since Andorra, which is eight or nine months, and thats a long time. But this is the gang that got us to the tournament because they were consistent, and hard-working, with a splash of brilliance in there. Our core values must remain the same and that means were difficult to play against and we dont give the opposition anything easily.Catch up with all the latest Euro 2016 news with Euro Breakfast each morning on Sky Sports News HQ from 6am Also See: Wales v Slovakia preview King up for new role Wenger believes in Wales Bale: Our time has arrived Clearance Shoes . With the way hes pitching, deGrom sees no reason to stop now even though New York might want to keep the rookie under 185 innings for the season. "I told him I would like to make my next one," deGrom said. "Why not?" DeGrom struck out 10 in six innings and the Mets finished a three-game sweep that knocked the Atlanta Braves out of the playoff hunt Sunday with a 10-2 victory. A half-game out of first place in the NL East on July 29, the Braves have gone 18-30 since then to fall 15 back of Washington. Atlanta was eliminated from the wild-card chase when Pittsburgh beat Milwaukee 1-0 earlier Sunday. The Braves lost for the 14th time in 18 September games as deGrom struck out 10 in six innings to extend his impressive streak since June 21. In his last start, de Grom (9-6) tied the single-game major league record by striking out his first eight batters. Against Atlanta, the shaggy-haired right-hander struck out eight of the first 11 batters he faced. "I was just trying to stay within myself early on and then if I needed, try to throw it by somebody with a little bit on it," deGrom said. "I was actually trying to do that consciously. That was the game plan." DeGrom allowed three hits, three walks and two runs -- one earned -- as he threw 63 of 100 pitches for strikes. In his last 15 starts, the rookie is 9-2 with a 1.90 ERA over 99 1-3 innings. DeGrom also used his bat, earning his second career RBI with a squeeze bunt that put New York ahead 6-2 in the sixth. The light-hitting Braves dropped to 8-60 when scoring two runs or less and got swept for the seventh time this year in a series of three or more games. Atlanta began the day ranked next-to-last in runs scored in the majors and was third in the NL in strikeouts. Shortstop Andrelton Simmons said it was hard to believe the team has been such a mess offensively. "The whole year we knew we were struggling at the plate to score runs, but we were hopeful that it was goiing to turn around," Simmons said.dddddddddddd. "You try to grind it out. It never happened." The Mets went up in the first on Daniel Murphys RBI groundout and 2-0 in the second on Tejadas sacrifice fly. They led 5-0 in the fourth when Curtis Granderson scored on Christian Bethancourts passed ball, Anthony Recker had a sacrifice fly and Tejada hit his fourth homer. Braves starter Ervin Santana (14-10) said its hard on pitchers to keep games close when the offence struggles so badly to produce. Santana gave up six hits and five runs with two walks and four strikeouts in five innings. "As a pitcher, we have our confidence up, but you either have to throw a complete game shutout or something like that to get a win," he said. "Its very tough." Atlanta made it 5-2 in the fifth. Justin Upton scored when Andrelton Simmons reached on shortstop Tejadas fielding error and Emilio Bonifacio drew a walk. But deGrom, who faced eight batters in the inning, struck out Phil Gosselin to leave the bases loaded. DeGrom said Collins told him that he and general manager Sandy Alderson will soon decide on a potential 23rd major league start for the rookie. DeGrom started seven games at Triple-A Las Vegas before making his debut May 15 in a 1-0 home loss to the Yankees. "I want to get to 185 (innings) so theres no limit next year," deGrom said. "I want to get to the 200 mark with no problem next year." UP NEXT Mets: RHP Bartolo Colon (14-12) is 2-4 with a 3.07 ERA in six career starts against Washington. The NL East champion Nationals begin a three-game series in New York on Tuesday. Braves: RHP Aaron Harang (11-11) is 16-7 with a 4.15 ERA in 27 career starts against Pittsburgh. The Pirates open a four-game series Monday at Turner Field. GETTING EVEN The Mets swept a three-game series at Turner Field for the first time since Aug. 31-Sept. 2, 2007.
